The New England Project
.....
As an advocate of local film production, Yankee Classic Pictures is endeavoring to create the opportunity for a local film and television distribution company.  This project begins with the creation of a line of pictures which can support a distribution company, which can then represent, purchase, or fund local feature and short films.

The advantage to having local distribution is that investors and filmmakers will have a far better chance of seeing profits return from their work and at a rate fast enough to allow them to reinvest and produce again quickly.  Besides the obvious advantages to local business to see profits return directly to New England without being filtered through other states, it will stand as an example for all New England producers to use in finding film funding.  A local film distributor can offer better fee structures and lower expense and overheads.  For films which have a distinctly local flavor, their distribution can targeted better to maximize marketing potential.

It is a win/win opportunity for Yankee Classic and for all local filmmakers to develop the New England film community into a full-blown industry, involving investors, banks, and financial oranizations.
